Robert Irwin, son of the late Steve Irwin, has been criticized by fans who mistakenly thought he had dressed up as Jeffrey Dahmer for Halloween.
The 18-year-old wildlife warrior shared photos on Instagram and TikTok dressed as Dwight Schrott, a character from the nineties sitcom. Office, Who is blonde like the serial killer and wears similar thick-rimmed glasses.
Bindi, 24, and Chandler, 25, went as Jim and Pam from one of the show’s Halloween episodes, while 19-month-old Grace donned a ‘World’s Best Boss’ T-shirt as Michael Scott.
He captioned the photo: ‘Baloo. Battlestar Galactica from Dunder Mifflin’s Australia Zoo branch happy Halloween!’ He captioned the photo and video in reference to the show.
However, the reference went over the heads of many of his fans who instead questioned whether he was dressed as Jeffrey Dahmer – who recently returned to the zeitgeist thanks to Netflix’s hugely successful true crime series.
‘Tell me he hasn’t dressed up as Jeffrey Dahmer on Halloween. For if he is, farewell,’ sad one.
‘Jeffrey Dahmer?’ asked another viewer.
‘Jesus man I got Dahmer vibes at first,’ commented a third.
Dahmer was convicted of 16 murders in 1992, and sentenced to 16 life in prison.
However, hundreds of fans vindicated the few who questioned him, with one commenting: ‘People are clearly dressed as Dwight from The Office and not Dahmer, haven’t you guys heard those lines before? ?’
