Instant messaging app WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is giving Windows beta users the option to speed up voice notes. WaBetaInfo, an online site that tracks new WhatsApp features, said the feature lets Windows beta users speed up audio messages by 1.5x or 2.0x so they can hear them faster.
“WhatsApp Beta for Windows 2.2241.0.0 is marked as a compatible update but some users may get the same feature on different versions as it is rolled out,” the report said.
Play a voice note to see if this feature has been added to your device. If you see a button that says “Playback Speed”, you can finally use this feature. It is important to note that WhatsApp users on both Android and iOS can already use this feature.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp version 22.21.75 has started rolling out to iPhone users via the Apple Store. This updated version of the app lets iPhone users respond to other users’ status updates. This feature is already available on Android and now iPhone users will also be able to use it.
The new feature has been officially announced in the Apple Store changelog. It also says that all users will be able to use the Status Reaction feature “in the coming weeks”. WhatsApp has been testing this new feature on both iOS and Android for a while now.
With this new feature, users will be able to reply to status updates with emojis. The emojis in this feature will not be the same as WhatsApp and Instagram direct messages.
Apart from this new feature, many other things are also added in the new update. With this new update, only group admins will know when a member leaves. In addition, group admins can now delete messages from other group members for everyone in the group. WhatsApp will also tell other people who received the message who deleted it.
