Naseem Shah’s late-game blitz, which included two off two sixes in the final over, propelled Pakistan to the Asia Cup 2022 championship game.
The Pakistani team played with poise and composure to win a high-stakes game. Today’s game was tense like most recent ones between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but the inexperience of the Afghani bowlers cost them the game (despite a fantastic effort) as Naseem Shah won it for Pakistan in the final over.
Pakistan appeared to be in command when chasing 130, but the Afghan bowlers rallied in the final few overs to reduce Babar’s team to 9 for 9. Fazalhaq Farooqi delivered two low full-tosses to Naseem, who was positioned perfectly at the crease to smash them over the boundary line, with 11 needed in the last over.
