Over 38,000 teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been given legal status according to a bill passed by the provincial assembly.
On Monday, lawmakers approved the “KP Teachers Appointment and Regularization of Services Bill, 2022.”
Provincial Minister for Education Shahram Khan Tarakai, speaking from the floor of the house, praised the educators and asked them to carry out their jobs with the dedication to ensure that the next generation is prepared to contribute to the country’s progress and development.
The KP government declared its intention to regularize thousands of educators, including professors and lecturers at universities, as well as hundreds of medical professionals and former employees of the FATA project, in June.
Earlier this month, KP’s Minister of Higher Education Kamran Khan Bangash announced hundreds of new job postings inside the HED.
The Minister of Human and Environmental Development took to Twitter to announce over 800 job openings, encouraging young people to apply through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC).
The District Education Department (DED) of Mansehra had also said they will send out appointment letters to the hundreds of new instructors they had hired for public schools and universities.
The move occurred after DED Mansehra was permitted by KP’s Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESD) to hire 900 new teachers.
