According to Ravi Shastri, a former Indian head coach, the encounter between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 was the finest ever.
Pakistan and Afghanistan’s encounter was hailed as “one of the best contests in history” by Ravi Shastri, a former head coach of the Indian cricket team.
During Pakistan’s thrilling Asia Cup 2022 triumph over Afghanistan, Shastri remarked on the importance of the moment. During his commentary, he predicted that “this will go down as one of the best T20 contests ever.”
All eyes were glued to the screens right up until the end of the nail-biting match between the two neighboring countries, which was won by Pakistan by a single wicket thanks to two consecutive sixes by young Pakistani spinner Naseem Shah. In doing so, Pakistan also secured a spot in the tournament’s championship game.
Wasim Akram, a great of Pakistani cricket, praised Naseem’s “sensational finish at this age” and compared it to Javed Miandad’s famous final ball six, which occurred 26 years earlier.
Fans of Indian cricket couldn’t help but sing the young bowler’s praises. As reported by India-based cricket statistician Rajneesh Gupta, Naseem Shah made history when he hit two consecutive sixes in the final over of a T20I match to secure victory.
On September 9, 2022, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka before the two teams meet again in the tournament’s final on September 11.
