Missy Sippy: There are many true cases of dogs used for housekeeping, but in America a pet cat has foiled the theft by waking its owner in time.
Fred Everett, a 68-year-old Mississippi man, has a pet cat named Calco, who alerted his owner when two men tried to break into his home to steal it.
Calico Bandit is a 9 kg kitten that has been living with its owner for a long time. The cat sensed danger when two suspicious persons tried to enter the house in the dark between 2.30 pm and 3.00 pm last week.
The house is located on the outskirts of Belden, where the incident took place on July 25. Calico then ran to her master’s bedroom. She climbed onto the bed, screaming loudly all the time. He pulled the blanket of his 68-year-old master and rubbed his paws on his hand. This strange reaction lets Fred know that there is something black in the lentils because he had never behaved like this before.
Fred saw two suspicious men trying to open the door with an iron rod outside the house. One of them also had a pistol. He immediately went inside and challenged the attackers with a pistol in hand, but instead of standing, they ran away.
In this way the bill went out without calling the police and Fred said that if the cat had not been there, the house would have burnt down and he might not even be alive.
