Islamabad: The Petroleum Dealers Association has announced that it will stick to its decision to shut down pumps across the country from July 18 after no progress in talks with the government.
Talks were held between the Petroleum Dealers Association and the Government Committee, in which the Federal Minister of Petroleum, President OGRA, and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were present.
Once again in the talks, the Petroleum Dealers Association expressed its concern about the tax and demanded its abolition, to which the representatives of the government refused to react immediately.
Later speaking to the media, President of Petroleum Dealers Association Abdul Sami Khan said that the deadlock remains in the talks, but it is welcome for us to include Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the government committee.
He said that in talks we have submitted our expenditure and income details to the government, the government is aware of the situation and our demands are also justified which should be accepted.
Abdul Sami Khan said that if the government issues an ordinance or makes positive progress, the matter can go ahead.
He said that from July 18, the strike of petrol pumps will be as per the announcement.
