His closest competitor is Leni Robredo, who defeated Mr. Marcos in the 2016 bad habit official contests.
Anyone who participates in the overall political choice will also have access to various positions, including congressional appointments and seats in the House of Representatives.
There must be a strong turnout among the 67 million eligible voters in the country, many of whom are minorities.

For years, Ms. Robredo has been one of the most vocal critics of President Duterte’s anti-drug and anti-gender policies.

Falsehood is abundant on the internet, but there is little evidence that the vote will be addressed when individuals have given their structures.

How soon can we expect to get results?
Polling stations stay open until 19:00 (2200-1100 GMT) local time, even though officials say they will remain open if people are still waiting in line to cast their ballots.
