On a one-year deal, Dolphins RB Sony Michel was signed.
It appears like the Miami Dolphins’ retooled offense has gained another piece.
A former Patriots running back, Sony Michel, has signed with the Miami Dolphins. On Monday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport disclosed that a source had informed him.
The Patriots selected Michel in the first round in 2018, and he spent the first three years of his career with the team. And now, after spending a year with the Los Angeles Rams, he’s returning to the AFC East.
Michel has been a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams throughout his four-year career. In 2018, he led the Patriots to victory in Super Bowl LIII by scoring the game’s only goal in the last quarter to give New England a 2-1 lead. And in 2021, Los Angeles will win it all again.
Miami just acquired Michel throughout the offseason. To improve its 9-8 record from 2021, it has developed many high-profile players.
The front management hired Mike McDaniel as a more aggressive mentor. A trade for collector Tyreek Hill later changed everything. The Dolphins also targeted wide receiver, Cedrick Wilson. Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert were added to a previously headlined offense by tight end Mike Gesicki and champion 2021 draft pick wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
With so many targets available to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins are looking to improve their negative stats after being near the bottom of the league in total yards in 2021 with an average of 307.0.
Miami’s offense will have high expectations coming season, especially with Michel as the newest member of this group of new Dolphins.
