According to Pakistan’s Prime Minister (PM), Shehbaz Sharif, China’s cooperation is needed in investment, commerce, and knowledge transfer, not loans or aid.
It was conveyed to Chinese investors that Pakistan is relying on expensive oil and gas imports, which must be replaced with solar and wind power in order to enable its growth. He noted that China’s agricultural and industrial advancements and cost-cutting methods are what the country wants to learn from.
According to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, certain districts of Pakistan might experience up to 20 hours of load shedding every day during the summer months. The Pakistani government congratulated China for helping Pakistan overcome load shedding and expand its output, exports, and employment possibilities.
According to the PM, if China’s President Xi Jinping and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hadn’t signed the deal for the CPEC, Pakistan would have been in a bad situation.
He praised Beijing’s rapid development as a role model for Pakistan, saying the country looked forward to China’s assistance “in every area of life.”
The premier reminisced about his visit to China, noting that the country has developed in agriculture, manufacturing, commerce, and IT, and that millions of people have been lifted out of poverty as a result. In his speech, he emphasized that Pakistan has a wonderful potential to learn from China’s rapid development and that Pakistan is ready to take on all of its problems.
Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang for their support for Pakistan at this trying time.
Pakistan is making it hard for the CPEC power plants to work, so Prime Minister Sharif has told the relevant ministries to give him an overview, a detailed brief, copies of presentations, and talking points.
