Understand your vehicle tax before you pay it

Working out KPK’s vehicle token tax by hand means checking separate rates for engine capacity, vehicle type, and filer status. This calculator brings all of that into one simple form.

Enter your vehicle details once, and it applies the correct token tax and income tax automatically, based on standard KPK Excise parameters. The result is a clear, itemised total you can trust before you visit the excise office.

What this calculator does

This tool works out your token tax, MVT, and withholding income tax together. Pick your vehicle and CC category, and get the full amount in one go.

Motorcycles vs cars

Motorcycles are charged a straightforward token tax with no income tax. Motor cars and jeeps carry both token tax and withholding income tax based on engine capacity.

Filer vs non-filer

Filers pay a lower withholding tax rate on their vehicle than non-filers. Select your status and the correct rate is applied automatically.

Late token penalty

A late renewal adds a surcharge on top of your combined tax. Mark your token as late to see this extra amount included in your total.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official KPK Excise & Taxation rate?

The calculator follows standard KPK Excise parameters and tax schedules. For a final, binding figure, always confirm with your local excise and taxation office before paying.

What counts as a filer or non-filer?

A filer is someone listed on the FBR’s Active Taxpayers List (ATL) for the current year. Non-filers are not on this list and pay a significantly higher withholding income tax rate.

Do motorcycles pay withholding income tax in KPK?

No. Motorcycles and scooters are only charged token tax based on engine capacity. Withholding income tax applies to motor cars and jeeps.

Do I need the invoice price for every vehicle?

Only motor car and jeep categories require the invoice price, since income tax for these vehicles depends on engine capacity and filer status. Motorcycles don’t need this field.

How is the late penalty calculated?

A late surcharge is added to your combined token tax and income tax when “Late Penalty Included” is selected, reflecting the added cost of a delayed renewal.

Why is my income tax so much higher as a non-filer?

Non-filers are charged a higher income tax rate than filers on the same vehicle, as a compliance incentive to encourage registration with the FBR.
