Warning: My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 17 SpoilersSince that time My Hero AcademyDeku and All Might met, they formed a special bond. But the final episode proves the connection is much more realistic than anyone expected.
Of course, Deku inherited the power of All Might. My Hero Academy, One for All, earlier in the series. However, what has emerged only relatively recently is that there are “traces” of previous users in One for All. These relics hold thoughts and memories from their original owners and exist beyond their death as psychic ghosts with whom only Midoriya can communicate. Deku met the fifth user, Daigoro Banjo, and the first, Nana Shimura, All for One’s younger brother and All Might’s predecessor. But all previous users are dead My Hero Academy, out of All Might and yet an All Might remnant has been seen before. So how do all these relics work for All Might?
A Meeting for Everyone’s Traces
After fighting against Shigaraki in the Paranormal War of Independence, Midoriya was hospitalized and fell into a coma despite her friends and classmates, even those who were horribly injured. My Hero Academy Like Bakugo, everything is fine anyway. In “The Wrong Way to Put Out a Fire,” All Might suspects that it might be something other than this coma, claiming that he can sense something going on in Midoriya’s mind. Of course, in the episode’s post-credits scene, the first user approaches Midoriya in her mental realm, summoning her to a meeting with the other tracks.
This has some interesting consequences. This not only confirms that it is an All Might relic, it also confirms that the living All Might has some awareness of what the relic is experiencing, even if it is not entirely clear to him. Interestingly, All for One himself explained the answer to this, stating that every time he gets a quirk from someone, a little piece of his soul goes with him. These remnants of Oddities would sometimes scold him in his sleep, something that would continue until he got rid of that person’s Oddity.
All Might’s Vestige lingers in Midoriya’s Soul
This seems to apply to One for All as well, confirming that yes, a small portion of All Might is literally living inside Midoriya right now. The ability to perceive and communicate with it is still weak, but there is nothing to suggest that they cannot be trained or developed in some way to give them the ultimate in private communication. This ability is still fairly new, so it’s not yet clear what its limits are; Maybe it only works very short distances, and All Might can only sense it from how close it sits. Even that could have some useful applications, as All Might freshly unlocks decades of experience to Midoriya.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that this skill will work well; After all, All Might was nowhere near. My Hero AcademyThe forefront of this has been around for a long time. Still, it’s an interesting card to have in Midoriya’s back pocket, and if anyone has used it creatively. My Hero Academyit will.
