After the success of the 2015 film Minions: The Rise of Gru, Brian Lynch has written a sequel that follows the Minions (Pierre Coffin) as they meet a 12-year-old Gru (Steve Carell) who dreams of being the world’s greatest supervillain.
Minions: The Rise of Gru Trailer
The trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru is here:
Gru is growing up in the suburbs in the 1970s, amid a whirlwind of feathered hair and flared pants. Gru, a fan of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, devises a strategy to join them. Fortunately, the Minions, his devoted minions, are on hand to help him cause mayhem. While Kevin, Stuart, and Bob work together to create their first lair, test new weaponry, and carry out their first missions with the help of Otto, a new Minion sporting braces and a frantic urge to please, “states the official synopsis.”
Grumble (Alan Arkin) interviews to become a member of the Vicious 6 after they remove their leader, Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin). In the beginning, things don’t go well, and things grow worse when Gru outsmarts them and becomes the pinnacle of evil’s deadliest nemesis. “Even evil men need a little aid from their pals,” Gru learns while on the run from Wild Knuckles, an odd source of counsel.
