Inside Hogwarts LegacyPlayers will likely get used to the Trials of Merlin before they get used to their favorite magical spells – and while this doesn’t seem like a cause for concern right away, it actually highlights the game’s most important core issue. This Harry Potter The prequel isn’t the only title to blame for this developmental oversight, but it’s certainly one of the most disappointing given the potential. Hogwarts Legacy could do otherwise.
Fortunately, Merlin Trials are not the only activity students will encounter while exploring the Scottish Highlands. There are several caves, goblin mining operations and poaching camps waiting to be explored, and each will usually contain some sort of loot. Players can also find all Astronomy Charts at: Hogwarts Legacy, this will reward them with something even more exciting. However, while these locations are somewhat less common, there is a Trial of Merlin almost everywhere the protagonist turns, which illustrates the biggest problem with the game. Hogwarts Legacy.
Merlin Trials at Hogwarts Legacy Adds Pointless Content and Small Prizes
problem with Hogwarts LegacyWhat’s special about Merlin Trials is that it replaces real, satisfying gameplay with mindless preoccupation. Completing them gives the player extra inventory space, but thanks to their replayability, they add nothing to the experience. There are only a few different types of trials, which means most witches and wizards will get bored of them pretty quickly, and it still has 95 Trials of Merlin in it. Hogwarts Legacy. It seems that the only reason behind this horribly large number is to deliberately get as much play time from students as possible without putting much effort into developing unique content.
Hogwarts Legacy’s Merlin Trials Reveal an Unfortunate Pattern
Hogwarts Legacy It missed a few magical opportunities, and the lack of inspiration seen in the Trials of Merlin is sadly evident in other aspects of the game as well. “The Man Behind the MoonsThe quest that sends players on a map-wide hunt for Demiguise statues is sadly nothing more than an overextended fetch quest required to unlock the more advanced levels of Aloh*mora. Hogwarts Legacy. But even then, Aloh*mora itself becomes unnecessarily time-consuming, and many players may choose to switch their game difficulty to Story mode and skip this unlocking minigame altogether.
Hogwarts Legacy‘s biggest problem is the lack of unique, meaningful content, and the Trials of Merlin is just one way this manifests in the wizarding world RPG. This takes a huge toll on the health of the game, especially after completing the main campaign, as players can feel understandably reluctant to spend hours completing such shallow, pointless missions. With Hogwarts Legacy Confirmed that it doesn’t have any DLC plans yet, this issue could become even more urgent and this is a stark reminder of how to avoid this issue at all costs in open world games.
