A gruesome criminal drama will serve as the background for the story, which follows an American movie actress called Mira as the lines between her real life and the persona she portrays begin to blur and blend.
Vikander will portray Mira, a disillusioned movie actress “who comes to France to feature as Irma Vep in a remake of the French silent film classic, Les Vampires,” a character she’ll play for the first time.
Olivier Assayas, a well-known French director, is writing and directing the Irma Vep miniseries. Along with Vikander, the cast includes Vincent Macaigne as René Vidal, Devon Ross as Regina, Jeanne Balibar as Zoe, Lars Eidinger as Gottfried, Vincent Lacoste as Edmond Lagrange, Nora Hamzawi as Carla, Adria Arjona as Laurie, Byron Bowers as Herman, Hippolyte Girardot, Carrie Brownstein as Zelda, Tom Sturridge as Eamonn, Fala Chen as Cynthia Keng, and Oscar-nominated actress Kristen Stewart will allegedly have a supporting part in the film.

Irma Vep Release Date
Irma Vep, HBO’s forthcoming miniseries adaptation of Olivier Assayas’ 1996 cult classic film, has now unveiled its official teaser video. Alicia Vikander appears in the video as a fictitious movie star who is fed up with appearing in box office smashes. She travels to France to film an independent film in which she will play the role of a lifetime. Additionally, it reveals how tough it is to deal with the film’s quirky director.
On Monday, June 6, the series will premiere on HBO and HBO Max. A global premiere as an Official Selection of the Cannes Festival in 2022 precedes the TV launch.
