However, the Admiral learned that the boys flying the Protostar were not dangerous criminals; rather, they are former child slaves nicknamed “The Unwanted” who stole the Starfleet ship to escape Tars Lamora and secure their own freedom.
Admiral Janeway could hardly suspect that she would find herself in the absurd circumstances of the world. Star Trek: Genius Episode 18, “Mindwalk.” Protostar’s young heroes decide to risk Dal R’El (Brett Gray) by using his latent telepathy via genetically engineered hybrid Vulcan DNA to gain access to Janeway’s mind. Despite being in Dal’s body, Janeway quickly defended herself and gained the other children’s trust. The same cannot be said for Dal, who inadvertently ruined Janeway’s reputation on Dauntless, so the Admiral is thrown into the cell before they change their minds.
Janeway Remembering the Virtues of Starfleet Why He Is A Great Admiral?
Admiral Janeway’s coming face-to-face with the children of Protostar and reaffirming Starfleet’s highest qualities showed why he was such a great Admiral. She told Admiral Gwyn (Ella Purnell), after Kathryn heard the fact that the young rebels were trying to protect the Protostar-based Living Construct the Diviner (John Noble) from destroying Starfleet, Janeway realized that her assessment of the children was completely wrong. and others, “When I was a cadet, I learned that a good officer is open-minded. I made a lot of assumptions about you and they were all wrong.”
Gwyn, Dal, and their young friends all dream of joining Starfleet, so the Admiral heard about them and decided. he is was wrong, and being worthy of his help meant everything to them. He also proved to the Protostar children that what Hologram Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) told them about Starfleet was true. Starfleet is fundamentally about seeking new life and new civilizations, which requires keeping an open mind and embracing the possibilities. After being pursued by the USS Dauntless, it was a relief that Janeway was freed from her own misunderstandings and the Admiral accepted the Protostar’s young crew in true Starfleet fashion.
How Admiral Janeway Can Help Protostar’s Young Crew
It’s great news for Admiral Janeway that she chose to take the side and help of Dal, Gwyn, and the others. Janeway is a powerful ally and her influence can go a long way in helping the Protostar children achieve their dreams of joining Starfleet Academy. However, Janeway had to deliver the discouraging news that Dal would not be accepted into Starfleet as an Augment and that genetically modified humans were banned by the United Federation of Planets. But that’s a hurdle for another time. The problem at hand is to deal with the Living Structure before they make contact with Starfleet and destroy it.
Of course, Star Trek: Genius It doesn’t make things that easy. Vau N’Akat agents the Diviner, Ensign Asencia (Jameela Jamal) and Drednok (Jimmi Simpson) want to activate Living Construct in Dauntless. Meanwhile, Dal and Janeway may have returned to their proper bodies, but the Admiral found himself in the cell due to Dal acting suspiciously while disguised as Janeway.
