After ten weeks of intense culinary competition, Brent Draper emerged as the victor of MasterChef Australia’s fifteenth season in 2023. The 32-year-old home cook from Beaudesert, Queensland, outshone his competitors with his exceptional cooking skills and won the grand prize of $250,000.
Born on May 2, 1989, Brent is the eldest of four siblings. Before settling in Brisbane, Perth, and Palm Beach, he spent several years in the Northern Territory. His journey to culinary stardom began at the age of 18 when he was tasked with preparing dinner for his roommates who were clueless about cooking. This experience ignited his passion for cooking, which he continued to nurture over the years.
Apart from being a celebrated home cook, Brent is also a digital content creator, ambassador, mental health advocate, and television personality. He has been serving as a National Coles Ambassador for two years, where he develops recipes and content for trailers. Prior to this, he worked as a concrete pumper and completed an apprenticeship as a Boilermaker in Brisbane.
On the personal front, Brent is happily married to Shonleigh since 2016. The couple, who first met in 2011 as neighbors, are proud parents to their son Alfie. The family currently resides in Northern Rivers, New South Wales. In 2021, Brent and his family embarked on a unique adventure by buying and renovating a bus to travel around Australia.
